When you think of classic button-down shirts, you think of famous brands like Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers. UES tried to differentiate itself from those brands in three ways: First is the shade. Using rope-dyed indigo yarn for the warp to take advantage of the strengths of the denim brand. A typical button-down shirt is mostly white. But UES expresses the uniqueness of a workwear brand in shades. The second is the adoption of unevenly shaped threads. Generally, button-down shirts that are designed to look beautiful never use uneven threads, but UES dared to use natural uneven threads. As a result, we were able to give the fabric a unique look. The last is the thickness of the fabric. We are researching the other brand’s fabrics as a benchmark, adjusting the thickness of the warp and weft, and making it one rank higher than them. We repeated trial and error in making the fabric, such as twisting threads of different counts.

Ues original gingham check has several features.
1) It is made of double threads (thread made by twisting two thin threads together), so it has a glossy feel.
2) The warp threads are woven with cords (slightly thick threads) spaced at regular intervals, which means the fabric does not stick to your skin and provides a refreshing feeling.
3) It is woven at a high density using a power loom, so it is bulky and has a firm finish.
4) Compared to general gingham checks, the pattern is slightly larger, creating a casual feel.
5) All buttons are made of natural shell to enhance the luxury feel.
The fabric is very light, at about 4 oz. It is made of reactive dyes, so the color fastness is strong. If you arrange it to remove wrinkles after washing and hang it out to dry, you can wear it without ironing.

This shirt is made of a light fabric with rope-dyed indigo warp and weft. The weft is all slub yarn, which gives the fabric a different texture. The buttons that come with the shirt are made from urea resin, so they are more resistant to aging than buttons made from natural materials. The shape uses the same pattern as the fall/winter flannel shirt. The soft 8 oz fabric with a light brushed interior feels good against the skin and is very comfortable to wear. This shirt can be worn in all three seasons except for the hot season.

A slim-fit silhouette is the characteristic of this product. To coordinate(wear) with a jacket is our recommended style. The product is made of UES original chambray. (Cotton 60% Linen 40% / Wabash: Cotton100%) The shirts finished with a slightly bigger button to come across with a gentle expression. We use a thicker chambray for the lining of the collar and cuff to help keep the form. The sewing has been done by triple stitch specifications with a cotton sewing thread. You can enjoy the process of fading by wearing it for many years to come.
